iOS App
I think an iOS app would be awesome. I especially like the idea of being able to look at admin stats and charts right on my iPhone.
We have an iOS app in the app store that has some basic functionality around looking customers, creating customers, and paying invoices. More functionality will be added on/around a monthly schedule. In the next few weeks we’ll have invoice edit-ability, then we’ll start on adding tickets!
Update: December 4, 2015
1.6 is out, it includes invoice create/edit.
Update: January 7th, 2016
Version 1.7 is out with strong offline support.
Version 1.8 will come in 4~ weeks with some bug fixes and performance improvements
:: Update March 1, 2016 ::
Version 1.8.1 was just released fixing the hanging after swiping a card
Version 2.0 will be next with Ticket support!
(estimated around mid-April)
:: Update March 31 2016 ::
We have internal betas with Tickets working, it should be a couple more weeks to get it submitted at this point. Just finalizing searches/custom fields/etc
:: Update April 13th 2016 ::
Version 2.0 just landed, it has the first version of our Tickets module. You can edit tickets, use the timer, etc – you can’t create tickets yet – coming soon.
Also coming soon is ticket charges.
:: Update May 17th 2016 :
Bug Fix just released, should fix 6s and 6s plus phones.
Also added ticket charges

Added an 'excited' comment without realizing there was a conversation on this.
The differences between the site being mobile friendly and having an app are fairly distinct. A good mobile app caches certain types of information, and stores login information. That way, the speed of access is greatly increased. Right now, if I'm on-site, launching the site, logging in, navigating to the customer page, creating a new ticket if one hasn't been, and then trying to log time are all an exercise in time and frustration. It's not that it doesn't work - it does, and that's impressive - it's that every element has to be loaded over a possibly slow connection, and the interface can't be truly touch optimized if it's based off of responsive elements.
There is a reason most other CRM and time trackers out there have a native app - by having the majority of elements stored on the phone, and being able to streamline the navigation for mobile app uses, the friction between the user and the service is greatly reduced. Right now, I used RepairShopr on the phone only if I have to. If I had it as a quality app, it would probably replace Toggl altogether.
Finally, the possibility of providing a 'clien't access' app for a client to view their assets, tickets, invoices, and pay them all within the app is an incredible selling point to clients.
I recognize that this is a huge effort that you may not have time and resources for, and that's fine. But if it ever becomes feasible, it would be amazing.

Mark - We need to hear about issues with mobile to fix them, happy to look at estimates - we want the entire site to be 100% usable from a computer or phone just the same.

Problem I have with mobile view is that not everything shows up well on a iphone 6 plus. When in a estimate for example, you cannot view all the "Line Items"

Just revisiting this topic since it's getting more popular.
Our urgency for this native app has become lowered since some recent CSS upgrades. Most of the features work in the browser mode; although the log-out issue is still a bit annoying. Personally, I hate mobile versions of websites. I always know how much more there is available on a desktop website and I want to utilize that. I suppose it's more imperative for shops that are using mobile devices or tablets for daily workflow.
I'm mainly weighing this option more because I know that an app is going to take a lot of dev time - and with iOS having 5+ different "sizes" that apps need to be created for (iPhone 4", 4.7" 5.5" iPad 7", 9", retina...) plus the Android users who want something - this would be a bunch of time that could be better used improving features, fixing bugs, and adding new modules.

Forgot to say the Daylite app is very good on iOS. Maybe a place for inspiration.

Just found you guys (on someone's recommendation) for my new mail-in repair business at www.riceisfordinner.com Most of what I do (customer interaction/communication wise) is done on a cellular iPad mini, or my iPhone 6. Accessing this awesome interface of yours would be much easier (and better for me) by way of an app than going through a browser. Any update on that?

Can't wait for an app! The HTML5 pop-up tab/windows for creating assets, previewing a pdf, etc are not ideal on the mobile web view. Not to mention logging out overtime you switch tabs if you keep Private viewing to not allow tracking/cookies.

Just wanted to bump this topic. We're also very interested in a native app. I use iOS, another tech uses Android, and everyone has a different model phone. In any case, the biggest integration aid would be local device calendar sync. Considering the lack of Exchange/365 syncing, this would be a great alternative for now.
Also, while most of the platform works on a mobile device in desktop mode, there are still several pages that don't render properly and cannot be resized (at least on iPhone) to work at all:
Vendors: Impossible to view phone numbers or notes of each vendor
Inventory: Impossible to view stock per location without going to each item detail
Field Jobs: Ridiculous to try to find an appointment when more than one tech is overlapping.
Invoices: The columns squeeze together so that simple line items take 10 pages to scroll through and invoices can space 100+ swipes to get to the total or change history.
Logistics: Not even an option available on the scaled desktop site. Parts is showing for us even though we have a multi-location account. LOL@Robert: You know even on the iPhone6 it's not perfect.
@Troy: I'd have to make a bet that you use an Android device.
@Chuck: Maybe RS can fix the website to cache credentials for a longer period with a device token? -

Not a big fan of using my browser on my phone to access it. It would be so much better if there were an actual app so I don't have to keep logging in, and switching back and forth to desktop mode because some things get cut off. Also with an app there are so many more possibilities for important notifications etc...

Chris, we've thoroughly updated the site for use on phones and tablets. Have you tried that out?

This would be perfect, being able to check on the go quickly how the queue is looking. We have to take a laptop into the store room to make sure jobs are matching the system, a iPad would make this a lot easier.

With apps, you don't need to login. I have to login to the website EVERY time I go to the mobile site. Apps allow for more controlled visual experiences. Mobile views using CSS and HTML can vary from device to device. Apps allow for a controlled experience.
On my iphone 4S - I have clipping on the mobile site... I am forced to use the full site to actually use it on my mobile device.

Why do an app, just keep the site so you can view it in a mobile phone, that way you don't have to build several apps.
