Allow customers to customize labels
So I feel stupid for posting this because I am sure someone is going to tell me that it is already possible, but I have searched and been unable to find it.
Through the DYMO Software you can create custom labels and even save them and open them using a text editor to upload. I used software similar but inferior to reapirshopr previously that had this abillity.
I could design my own label filling in the fields similar to how the emails are done, then it would print my labels with my logo, or whatever I wanted. I would really like to change the design.
Today we released an update to RS introducing the ability to Customize Labels. More info at the link below.

I would like to see the logo which is already on the ticket label to show on the asset label. Seems like a minor code tweak to make that happen.

Any update on this? It would be nice to add custom fields to our asset labels.

Yes please! The current label size is pretty big with a lot of white space. I'd like to use a smaller label size with perhaps less info. Thanks

As EDM is still not efficient for us, we still need to store a lot of papers for every customers in physical folders.
We store them under alphabetical order (lastname + firstname). We are looking to customize the customers labels like this :
http://www.tabquik.ca/design.aspx?try=1(but maybe with grey shades to be able to use a Dymo-like printer B&W)
we would like to print the first 4 letters of the Lastname and 4 letters of FIrstname with a few other informations like : customer #, incoming date,........
if you don't plan to support that kind of label, would it be possible to use PHP or any other script to do this ?

It would be great to be able to adjust the size and content on Ticket Labels. If this was something that was also generated when a new ticket was created that would be a clever feature as well.
Ideally the Ticket Details could be a template to adjust information to make it an effective tool.

I would love this as well. Right now the font size of the price is too small for my liking. I think the label looks great otherwise.

This would be great to be able to do. Is there any way we can make them smaller as well as changing the content on the label itself?

Hmmm. Just was looking back at this and noticed I pasted the wrong printer link that I was bragging about - LOL. It's actually the 720, not the 570; not sure how that got mixed up. Anyways, here's the one we'd love to use with size/orientation adjustable to work with RS and CloudPrint: http://www.amazon.com/Brother-Professional-High-speed-Networking-QL720NW/dp/B0081TZD54/

58 Votes since January 30th 2015 and no chime in from RS. When I was going to integrate RS in my shop last year it was this very reason why I did not. One year later and no changes have been made. Dymo Labels are too expensive. I have a Godex Label printer that cost 1/2 of what Dymo Labels would cost me. I can get the GODEX to work but as someone as mentioned, fit too page is too small and full page is not centered. Also, the orientation of the label in RS does not matter. We need more Printer Support and have the ability to customize our own labels just like every other POS out there allows you to do.

Yup need to be able to customise labels, and we need a label that can be attached to devices so if they come back into the workshop again, we can scan that label and get to a screen where it is a simple click to create a new ticket, with all details of customer and asset already filled in.
Then all we need to add is the ticket description and fault detail etc.
This would speed up the check in process massively! -

I would just like my company name to be on the label

Yes, this would be GREAT if we could customize the label. Please put this functionality into Repairshopr!

Please allow the ability to customize the labels. I agree with Will. Our labels in the former software (which I believe is the same for both of us) allowed me to make a custom label that didn't have so much client information on it (for their privacy) but allow me to make a default template that said "for immediate service or repair, call ____ and our phone and web info. The only identifier for them was their name. I find that with our current tags, which we originally were keeping on people's machines are now being taken off since they dont really serve as a reminder. I can upload examples if need be. Currently, if I want to continue to do this, I'm with Nathan and have to manually create the label in the Dymo software and print it from there.
Thanks!

More like: Option to customize LABEL SIZE in the Admin Preferences to work with ALL PRINTERS per each type of PDF template
For reference, these are the printers we're using. They're amazingly fast (90/min), the cartridges we use have 800 labels per roll and cost $5/each (about half a cent per label), and the printer supports USB, Ethernet, Serial and Wifi:
http://www.amazon.com/Brother-QL-570-Professional-Label-Printer/dp/B000ZHEVZ8/The issue is that the RS template is made for 3.5" labels, not 2.4". Therefore, on "fit to page" the text is shrunk, and on "print full size" the text is not centered. It would be amazing to specify your page size for PDFs for each template type (tickets: 8.5x11", receipts: 3.15", labels: 2.4", etc.)
Pleeeeeeeeeeease?

We have so many different items, And So many Different assets in our system, and our label printers Do not support the Size template you have as default. can we have a custom size edited, into the Admin panel so we can choose\modify label sizes?
for example, Our labels are 2.4x1.1, And they print so tiny on your template, as it is too big, and attempts to squash it down to fit to page. and if we turn off fit to page it is way off center. -

I would love to just add the customers password to the asset sticker so we dont have to keep going back to a repairshopr screen to get into their machine.
