Ring Central Integration
I think it would be awesome to somehow integrate with Ring Central allowing calls from customers to be documented on their online profile. I know I have had a few clients claim we didn't call them, or vice versa. All of our calls are recorded as well, so I think it would be cool to have all of the conversations uploaded to the account.
Currently, I have to manually login to my Ring Central dashboard, look for the customers phone number, and find logs that way. I think there's alot that can come from an integration.
You can use Zapier to integrate at this point.
You can see example ideas at the bottom of this page: https://zapier.com/zapbook/repairshopr/ringcentral/
We will have some pre-made zaps coming shortly.
One example would be using the ringcentral triggers to fire a webhook GET request to the callerid api in RepairShopr. Then it would behave exactly like our other PBX integrations.
Example coming soon!

@michael miller. I did create a custom solution that I’m still working a few kinks out with. RingCentral has a notifications feature in their developer account. Unfortunately it works on a subscription model that has to be refreshed on an on-going basis. I decided since we are already using Office 365 that I used Microsoft Flow to facilitate the automation. I have a timed flow that works on a regular basis through webhooks that refreshes that subscription. The notification subscription pushes to a webhook created in a separate flow. This evaluates for specific conditions of the call. Wether is ringing, inbound, outbound, etc. If it meets the conditions that reflect an actual phone call I have it use a webhook to call the URL structure you can find in the PBX integration documentation for RepairShopr. If you’d like to know more you can email me at matthew@techinaflash.net and I can share with you the exact programming I have in place.

@matthew didn't you get this figured out with a paid account and a developer account? If so, can you share any of those super sweet details?

Can we use ring central to send the SMS through our ring central number?

@Troy.. Still wondering on the real time (or close to real time) for the ring central calls. Since zappier only runs zaps every 15 minutes, it’ll display that a caller is calling well after we’ve hung up with them. Unfortunately this confuses my employees more than I care to admit.

@Troy. Is there another way to get Ringcentral calls to show up on RS in real time. It’s really confusing for some of my employees when the alert shows up 10 minutes after someone actually called.

Any progress been made on this? I'm mainly interested in the caller ID lookup between RingCentral and RepairShopr.

@troy I will provided access to my developers login. All the API docs you need are inside the portal once you login. Please email me where you would like me to send my login details

I would have loved to make this a proper integration but they wouldn't give me a developer account and are super hard to work with. Maybe the worst yet. If someone can get us access to play around without a ton of hassle I'll happily try again. Need an account, API access, and API docs.

@Michael As I understand you get a 100 tasks on a zap so for many zaps that may work out just fine but for zaps based on phone calls, to a business that receives more than 3 calls a day, you will run through those limited tasks/triggers quickly. For us, we receive an average of 25 calls a day. We would be pushing the monthly envelope with even a "Basic" plan at $20/Month and would probably need the the business plan at $50. This is a integration feature that should be native.

Er, I'm using Zapier and the first zap or so is completely free - I've never even gotten a reminder. So I'm not sure what you've got going on?

@Troy You mean open a support ticket with RepairShopr?
You know there are several configuration screens in Zapier?
Also, once configured you're unable to view the settings. -
@mark / @curtis / anyone - if you can open a ticket and send a screenshot of the zapier screens I'll be happy to see if this can get some improvements. I've never had an open ticket from someone that has ringcentral to actually test this with.

I cannot get it to work either. In Zapier it passes all the checks and test and if I make a call then manual run the Zap it says "Triggering on 0 RingCentral "Call Ended" item(s)" but then nothing seems to happen in RepairShopr.

I don't know - all of the incoming calls get logged to our business account only-
" Sat 02-11-17 04:46 PM Phone got a phone call from +1219926XXXX to inbound "But 1219926XXXX is OUR office number and thus this gets logged to our account- not the actual customer calling in.
There really aren't options with the Zapier (at least that I would know how to change)- how are you folks getting this to show the incoming actual number as the ID (and thus logged to the actual account that is calling in)?

Hey Mark,
That's odd - works for us without any problems. When someone calls, it will mark in their most recent ticket and their customer log that the customer called from xyz number.
The biggest problem for us is that the Zap doesn't fire off right away, and sometimes the call only gets logged a few hours later. So, we get a little message in RepairShopr that says 'so and so is calling!' which is really more 'so and so called a while ago'.
Probably related to Zap frequency, and I haven't bothered to look it up.

We have the Zap setup between RS and RingCentral - however it only records against our account and not the customers account. Ie - the phone calls that come in or out all show up on the account that has our office number (our internal test account). Even customers that have a number in RS that matches the incoming telephone number it never attaches to them, Anyone else have that same issue?

I seem to be missing something as well, it looks like it only found the initial call. Maybe someone who's successfully set this up for their account and explain the way they created the zap?

I seem to have it working for ended call & missed calls (had to make zaps for each of these, for each ext I wanted to work). With the 'ended calls' trigger from RingCentral and the 'call direction' field , we should be able to log outgoing calls using the 'number called' field as well if there is a way for RS to read that field.
I'd like to see it query the inbound calls against the number dialed with the shop location numbers stored in RS to log which location the customer called. But now my brain is working and I'd like to be able it to log calls to my direct extension as well and show that the customer called my direct extension.
Or maybe for less work on RS, we can make a zap set for each location in RS just have the option to choose RS location in Zapier.
Same with outgoing, I'd like it to show which location called the customer, or if a manager's personal extension called the customer.
THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES!!! ISN'T THIS EXCITING!

I set it up as well. Not sure if I did something wrong. Worked great when testing through zap. But now every time someone calls it just shows the number of the original test call. I didn't change any settings in the preconfigured zap.
