We sell some items that are all discounted, but we have to keep the retail price in the item so we can keep up with how much we've discounted. Under our old POS we were able to set a % discount per category, this would help a lot!

One thing we really want to see is a line item discount ability within the invoice. Adding a discount as an inventory item, does not really fit our needs. We need to be able to apply a discount to labor only, in a way that is detailed regular rate vs. discounted rate for the customer. We also need an auto summed field to show the customers total savings per invoice and year to date. We have created a program for our customers called TEXPOINTS that we would also like to include on our invoices and I think that we can do that no problem by adding a custom field. Also seems like there would already be fields for IMEI numbers and serial numbers of devices that are being serviced.

Just to add to this, line discount would be great. Also if you can add a discount to an item type i.e just labour or just parts? I understand this would need stock to be categorized into 'parts' and 'labour' etc types. and also assign discount levels to customers as mentioned elsewhere.

In my old system we had coupons that we could add either a department/category for them to apply to or individual items in inventory. That way the coupon doesn't effect the whole invoice. We offer a discount on cases with a repair that is percentage based and it is a nightmare to calculate it manually for each case.

It would be great to do per item to keep the margins in check. Showing the discount value gives the customer perceived value. Practice is more common now on store receipts in general.

would be good to add the discount directly on the item's line, discount would be in amount or percentage.

it would be wonderful to have the ability to make a discount per line, directly on the affected item.
we would need a new column on the invoice called "discount" which would calculate a -/+ amount or a %
