Stop auto subscribing techs to tickets when they leave a comment.
Let them choose when they want to subscribe. The video on feature Friday made it seem like technicians could choose to subscribe by clicking actions and then hitting subscribe. But in reality the system subscribes them automatically to any ticket they leave a note on.
This means that we now have to leave a comment, refresh the page, click actions, then unsubscribe, as additional steps to leaving a note on a ticket we just want to chime in on.
Thanks for all the votes and comments here, we are going to change this to stop auto-subscribing when a comment is made. Should be able to get that change out any day now.

Really would like to see the option to subscribe and unsubscribe without additional steps. It's causing several unwanted notifications for no reason.

It is wasting unnecessary time for people to unsubscribe.

I agree with Andy. Great idea in theory, but bad implementation by auto-subscribing people and not giving users or admins the ability to disable the auto-subscription setting. We're already overloaded with emails; now we get MORE useless emails about tickets we have no need to be "subscribed" to. We shouldn't have to manually unsubscribe from every ticket we enter a note on. We should be able to disable the auto-subscription feature on a global and per-user basis.
