Subscription Management! Create/Manage Recurring Revenue (AV, DB, Leases, anything!)
Hi all,
What is one major thing RS is missing relating to recurring revenues?
SUBSCRIPTION management. A section in the portal and in their profile labeled subscriptions. Imagine yearly billing for AV... Automatically- It would contain...
Start/end dates
Cost per month
Description of subscription (antivirus, data backup, VoIP service, equipment leases, MSP program, web hosting etc...)
Contract terms (contract docs, renews automatically, early termination cost, term agreement length, etc)
Invoice terms (paid monthly by 5th day of each month, late fee of x)
Clients should be able to see their subscriptions easily. They should be able to request cancelation or renewal all from their portal. They should be able to do self service and click auto renewal (creates recurring charge or extends it) or cancel (stop recurring invoice/tickets).
For the IT/tech side... Tickets and invoices would automatically be created for these subscriptions when actions are needed. Such as AV renewal, client follow up, contract renegotiation, upgrade opportunities, etc... We should have report for subscriptions so we can properly manage them. Reports should contain a forecast stating the total potential revenues and profit if all subscriptions are ran full term.
RS is already so close to this... It has:
Stored credit card feature (for autobilling)
Recurring tickets and invoices (for auto tickets and invoices)
Contract Management feature (store contract docs and terms)
Serial Number Management (click renew and pay- creates ticket and sends them a new serial number)
Email Marketer - (Reminds clients of a soon expiring subscription)
Notification Center (notify team of subscription statuses- ie renewals, cancelations, or requests to cancel)
This all needs to be combined into a subscription management system.
Thoughts?
P.S- I have a system that does this extremely well for websites- it's called WHMCS. It's the most popular system for web site/hosting management. It also has a great project management system with task/checklists. Each project has a timer that tracks task list completion and over project completion. It allows you to connect multiple tickets To a single project or multiple projects to a single ticket. It's basically worthless to anything but web hosting and web design projects. But the concepts are great! So much information and products on the internet- enough to drive me a batty-
We are marking this as done, a big upgrade was done a couple weeks ago.
We do plan to add some more of this, but we’ll need to come back to it in a few weeks.

It has sadden us that this feature is no longer available. We are new repairshopr users and we have just come to learn the KB referencing this feature with the steps is no longer available. At this time the option to select the reoccurring invoice type is missing and clients are not able to view subscriptions/reoccurring invoices in the client portal. This is a huge issue for us as does not promote transparency on our end. Can this be revisited or re-enabled to customers can view subscriptions in the portal or reoccurring invoices?
Here is the KB we are trying to use:

any update to a subscription manager?

Agreed with @Billy @Torrie @Will @Jordan and COUNTLESS others that this should be revisited x1000! Another example of how ideas marked as "Completed" are never revisited.
I think someone may need to copy/paste all of the features left out, re-post as a new feedback request, and then post on here to redirect visitors for more votes. I'm out of votes or I would...

Hi there everyone.
I would like to see this have a frequency drop down box, monthly, quarterly, biannually, annually. others have posted recomendations and I agree with them.

I would also like to see this revisited! The ability to set start and end dates and the added features for an MSP would be wonderful!

I would really like to see this revisited, especially the following:
"Start/end dates
Cost per month
Description of subscription (antivirus, data backup, VoIP service, equipment leases, MSP program, web hosting etc...)
Contract terms (contract docs, renews automatically, early termination cost, term agreement length, etc)
Invoice terms (paid monthly by 5th day of each month, late fee of x)Clients should be able to see their subscriptions easily. They should be able to request cancelation or renewal all from their portal. They should be able to do self service and click auto renewal (creates recurring charge or extends it) or cancel (stop recurring invoice/tickets)."
PCRT has upgraded and the video for v2 shows how they do theirs.
We do yearly service contracts and still have to do a lot of paper which I would love to eliminate and just have a contract generated by RS and then have the customer either sign via topaz or even docusign. I know this is a huge undertaking, but it is the only place that PCRT still surpasses RS. Here is a link to the video: http://pcrepairtracker.com/videos/?q=PCRT_v2
I would also really like to say great job to Troy and eveyone for not only continuing to improve this product, but getting back to us all so quickly when we email or post suggestions.
If RS ever starts a sales dept, I would love to join. I really believe in this product to help the small shops like ours.

I was so exited to see this feature marked as "done", but this doesn't begin to satisfy a somewhat similar request I've been making by phone since Jan 2015. I simply wanted recurring charges....without creating tickets, without sending a client multiple invoices each month. Please see: http://feedback.repairshopr.com/forums/165658-general/suggestions/9820491-recurring-line-items and vote it up please.

I just started using RS and was very excited for this feature. The 2 issues I see are when looking in the Contract, it doesn't show a link to the recurring invoice. (from what I can tell, this can only be viewed by going into recurring invoices and looking for it).

Your current implementation has seriously made our life better. Thank you.

If we charge a customer per computer... Ie the number of computers that appear in gfimax dashboard or assets... We need to review this before the reoccurring invoice runs. One month they may have 20 computers the next Mont 21 computers. We charge per computer so the invoice would be different....

Chuck has the top 3 highest rated topics in the RS feedback forum. Just saying - needs to be on payroll (cough cough) [who said that?] (not me)

You can do half of this with reoccurring invoices and an authorize. Net account. We started offering in shop monthly maintenance plans to help generate reoccurring revenue on our in shop side of the business. We just use a reoccurring invoice and check the box to automatically charge that invoice monthly. The customer gets a paid invoice and a receipt email for the transaction.
All that is nice but you also mentioned letting the customer change plans and change things themselves. You have a lot of good ideals there.
