Gocardless for UK
Well the way we used it on quickfile integration was in customer section for a particular customer click on setup direct debit. Then it would send an email to their email address. They create a login and provide bank details.
Then direct debit is enabled for that customer. You could set recurring invoices to take payment automatically but also there would be a button to take payment for one off invoices when you need to. So I think they did it the same as you as quick file sorted the recurring bit and took payment for you as and when you set. I've never gone direct to gocardless and set a plan there although I know you can.
I believe you get a cut of each payment too (don't quote me) but the fees are so cheap too. Beats PayPal hands down on fees - I haven't used any others but with costs fixed and capped at £2 its worth looking at. I don't mind beta testing either. Its the only thing missing from the package for me at the moment lol.
Please check it out @ https://gocardless.com/features/api/ - in the meantime is there any other solutions you think of?
Us UK folk need a way to collect payments especially for recurring invoices and managed services. I'll get other uk techs interested in repairshopr to vote as this is one feature that's critical :)
We are still holding off on this, it would be great if we could also find a partner/integration that can do one-time payments easily that support EMV that would could build into the POS – and not only the recurring invoices.

Hi, I know this is an old thread (but fairly new to RepiarShopr)
Using GoCardless for recurring invoices would be so helpful! Currently, we use Quickbooks for our recurring invoices, as that has GoCardless integration, but if RepairShopr used GoCardless, I could do all my invoices via a single pane of glass, saving me a fair bit of admin each month! :) -

I'd just like to point out that GoCardless works in more than just Britain. At time of writing, It's available all over Europe, NZ, AU, Canada (and imminently, the USA).
It appears to be the best debit option for a platform wanting a one-stop-shop for a debit option for users. They have a pretty friendly API / Integration docs too.
Selfishly, Plooto is superior for the US / Canada, but for all of the users from all over, GoCardless offers the greatest country coverage.
3 votes from our team in Canada / the US / the EU. Now if only we could bill customers in their local currency and not just our base currency!! *cough* multi-currency* :)

All UK users need to post 3 votes I can see if their are only 81 its not worth their while

I made a call to Worldpay now that they are merged with Vantiv. I got the impression that Vantiv was to be used to roll out application support (such as RS) and they are very keen to onboard new custom. Perhaps if RS could reach out to Worldpay/Vantiv and check plans for world wide deployment it could be an easy win as Vantiv is already inbuilt.
As you can tell I also need re-occurring payments - A must.

If I could use all of my 20 votes on this one item, I really would! That is how much it would mean to me and to the rest of the UK audience here who are clearly being ignored on something we really feel would add exponential value to this product.

I also agree with Martin here. So many great things about RepairShopr, and there are good changes happening. But, GoCardless integration and a couple of other bits are holding it back from being perfect.

Hi Troy.... Martin again.
You kind of hinted at one point that this integration may go ahead some time very soon... is this actually the case because increasingly this is becoming a HUGE problem in the UK.
We cannot any longer take advantage of some of the features you are rolling out.
Example:
Kabuto... great... I'd like to sign up people to offer an ongoing service - trouble is I then have to runa whole different tracking and accounting method to make sure that people are up to dat on payments before we start a session... so that's a flop
Team viewer sessions... would be nice if we could automatically take money from remote support sessions created... which GoCardless can be set up to do... but no.. that's a no go too
The there are other services that I am sure many of us all offer like hosting / domain / website site services / website maintenance etc etc.... but again no singluar common approach.
Think you just need to be honest with us Troy cos this idea has been gathering pace for 3 years now... has way more votyes than a bunch of the other 'approved' status ones and i for one feel like I'm beginning to see that Repairshopr is no longer serving all my business requirements. An honest update will at least let us in the UK know whether we stick with until happening or start looking for a solution that actually caters for those of us across here - sorry so blunt because hand on heart, we love Repairshopr but this is getting testing

Hi Troy and Repairshopr team.... any update on this please?

Real shame your not looking more at this.
This is becoming a bigger and bigger issue for us trying to track and chase payments for re-occurring invoices and subscriptions.
If this was integrated the product would tick another box.

MikeD - I guess the attraction is that it is now well known in the UK, offers a simple service (they are not a payment gateway) in offering simply direct debits at a 1% rate.
Never heard of Adyen tbh, and even after looking their prices seem higher for DD. Then the next question is, how would that integrate with RS? There's no integration support from RS side of things for that vendor, only Authorize.net, Stripe and a couple of other US ones if I recall.

MikeD commented
Not sure what the attraction to Gocardless is.
Adyen offer same services and lots more. They are worldwide now, full API and rates are cheaper than any I have found. They do recurring too. We've been a happy customer using terminals in our store for 4 years ore more now.
They have excellent and prompt support too.
Full documentation is online for integration. -

GC are linking up with quite a few membership developers, and also SaaS systems, so I would suspect they would be pretty easy to get on board with their API. I'm not a dev, so I really have no idea, but I can pretty much say that with GC running, this would increase our options here in the UK for sure.

Still under review??
Just saw the Recur integration rolled out. Very exited about that, but Vantiv it's not available here in the UK.
GoCardless would be goto solution for this, just saying.

Being able to integrate RS with GoCardless would be great...
If incoming payments to GC would resolve invoices in RS then I would be a very happy RS user!

GoCardless is the best and does single payments too

All our monthly payments are taken via GoCardless which is integrated with Xero but doesn't work how i want it to. It would be nice to have an option to mark invoices as paid via GC and link the payment to the invoice as well as set up new contract customers (reoccurring invoices) via RS with out having to use 3 different portals!

Any ideas if this is seriously being considered?? Need more UK intergrations please

Any love or alternatives? Especially as they gear up to go worldwide. (USA https://gocardless.com/en-us/)

Would be great if GoCardless could be used to automatically reconcile against reoccurring invoices. One of the best Direct Debit providers here in the UK at the moment.
