Automatic Customer Type Discounts - "Membership" Perks
It would be great to classify a customer as a certain group. We offer discounts based on the "Type" of customer.
So.
65 and over = Discount at 25% off
Active Military = Discount of 15% off
Veteran = Discount of 20% off
Non-Profit Organizations = 20% off
Employee = 10% above cost
Family Discount = 50% off
Friends Discount = 25% off
We also provide loyalty programs to our clients that prepay services through us on a monthly basis (prepay yearly maintenance or antivirus solutions). Depending on the program they have, they get between 10% to 25% off of services for that particular device (above and beyond their maintenance programs).
We have a rule that 10% above cost is the maximum discount price that can be reached.
Example 1:
Antivirus Software
Retail Price: $50
Cost: $20
Margin: $30
Employee Purchase (10% above cost): $22.00
Family Discount (50% off): $25
Friends Discount (25% off): $37.50
Hard Drive
Retail Price: $79.99
Cost: $69.99
Margin: $10.00
Employee Purchase (10% above cost): $76.99
Family Discount (50% off): $76.99
Friends Discount (25% off): $76.99
So if these two products were put together on a single transaction - Here is how it would look.
Customer is a family member (50% discount to a max discount of 10% above cost)
Antivirus - $50.00
Hard Drive - $79.99
Subtotal: $129.99
Discount: ($28)
Tax (5.5%): $5.61
Total: $107.60
This really builds great loyalty and has is a nice reward for loyal and recurring customers.
We hope to see this implemented :)
Please vote everyone if you feel this could be an excellent feature!
For IT Pros/MSPs you can now set override prices per customer via a contract. The rest of this might take a bit longer

Please close the review Team RS, it's been under review for a year and a half at this point!
We all want this feature!Would be so helpful to attach a "permanent" discount level to any customer. As it is, we have to rely on the (easily-missed) Notes field as a reminder to add a line-item discount for those customers to whom we offer discounts (fire/police/military, seniors, friends/family, animal charities, etc).

I think this would be a great feature to automatically add discounts for military, police, and ems discounts we give to our local customers. Thanks

Is it possible to discount only a certain type of inventory category? That way we could do service only discounts or hardware only discounts.

I agree and would like the ability to create our own custom discounts. Would like multiple selections for different products. Like 10% off on all hardware and 20% off all labor/services for the same client.

We have sales from time to time that offer 5 or 10 percent discount on all pc accessories. We need something like this to spend the checkout with RepairShopr. some of our customer are in social group in town. We give them a discount as well.

Any update on this? It could be a helpful addition to service contracts clients that pay a fixed fee per month for unlimited IT support.
Plus for employee's family etc...

I agree! I currently offer my customers 10% off all invoices if they allow me to store their card on file, this feature would eliminate the frustration of having to remember to apply the discount on every invoice (currently I just use the the customer note feature as a reminder mechanism).
