A mention / notification system.
If a tech posts a hidden comment inside of ticket calling out to another tech or help desk admin.. they'll be notified within the interface rather than an email.
Example "Repair is completed @helpdeskadmin." The helpdeskadmin then receives a notification within repairshopr that the ticket needs to be invoiced and the customer contacted.
This was planned, but the @mention plugin we found didn’t work so well. I’m going to shelve this until we can figure that part out..

@Troy: With the new HUD bar and real-time notifications, perhaps this can now be done? I love the idea of making call names like @Ryan go to specific techs, and even the idea of hashtags for locations/groups like #Store1 or #locationB.

Hey Mark,
I completely agree. Ideally, we'd like to make RS our ONLY system we use in the stores. Currently, switching between Outlook/365, then over to Quickbooks, then over to Skype, then back to RS is hugely cumbersome. While there will always be a need for tools like Outlook and Skype, we'd like all INTERNAL communication/ticketing/project work to be done exclusively through RS.

Hi Troy,
This would be good, as long as it is something "live" that doesn't need to page to be refreshed for the notifications to appear. (I am thinking along the lines of the Facebook notification system). It would also be good if you could have a custom message with the notifcation so that you can assign a ticket, say you have assigned the ticket to the tech and highlight specific notes/actions for them to take. Thanks,

This sounds like a great idea! It would be really helpful to have that in the system!

I would like to see a feature like this for all notifications. Ticket replies, estimate approvals, etc...
It would be nice it they were real time also (no page refresh) Or maybe even something like gmail uses for the desktop notifications for new emails? A browser extension?
