Everyone please weigh in on this and see if this solution would work for you. The groundwork for this is already laid and I think it would get most of us what we want with minimal effort from the dev team and Card Present Rates.

I agree. The simplicity of Square and the quick time frame to get our cash is key. Authorize.Net is usually 3 days. I know there is Square integration with iOS but honestly, the iOS version of RS is horrible and always disconnects my reader having me spend countless hours reconnecting. I'd love to see integration into the web app (like Authorize.net) so we can just run our CC's through Square for everybody!

Any movement on this? Our company relies heavily on square invoicing and lack of integration options here is what is keeping us from moving over to Repairshoppr. As wonderful a system as it seems to be, we cannot pay for another service unless it Integrates well with our existing infrastructure.

Yes, we need this as well. Square is now one of the largest payment processors in the world and we only use square. We have to switch back and forth between square and repairshopr to process online orders. It is cumbersome and is taking our staff twice the amount of time to do business.

Please add this. We too use Square as our CC processor.
We are fine with the Card Not Present fee. I have to deal with that fee anyway because my clients end up calling in and making payments over the phone.

It seems to me RS has ties to Vantiv... You guys push it heavy. If we as techs want to pay 4% for card not present fees, we should be allowed to do so. Fact is most small repair shops are drawn to square because of the simplicity. Listen to your customers RS. Add Square support for PC. It can be done. What happened with the contacts Ryan sent to you? To be honest, this is one of three needed solutions I would like to see for RS.

Our primary CC processing is Square as well. We love the flexibility and quick payments, as others have mentioned. The ability to receive funds next day especially when involving hardware purchases is extremely helpful to our company. We currently use a PC for writing up our tickets, etc and then have a iPad at the front for processing the payments with Square and using the RS iOS App. The inconvenience of having to take the payment on the iPad and then go back to the PC to print the receipt is annoying, but works. Integrating Square to work with the web based RS would be an extremely helpful add-on to the product. Also to be able to integrate Square payment processing into the online portal for customers to pay with their credit card would be great also. We have a processing account with QB as well but we don't use it because of their delay in releasing funds.

@ryan - it doesn't matter how pretty square is. What they do is put an iframe in the website, and you have to pay the "card not present" rate of 3.5%+

We are not going to implement a solution with those prices for sure. Vantiv is currently the solution we are backing. Maybe if square adds card present from a web browser some how.

@Seby: Square is a flat-rate of 2.75% for CP and flat-rate of 3.5%+30cents for CNP. We are currently using TNBCI and pay interchange+.05% which totals anywhere from 1.50-2.05% of our gross (including the Auth.net gateway). Square WILL offer anyone with high volume (over $25k/mo) a CUSTOM RATE if you provide them with 1-2 years of past merchant statements. They offered us 2.0% flat-rate for CP and said they would further adjust it after a few months of seeing the card types we often get.

@Troy: Square is by FAR the easiest and "prettiest" merchant company around. I've been with 3 different companies now and miss how simple it was working with Square. Process $50k in cards last month - my cost was 2.0% of that - DONE! No fine print, no interchange fees, no gateway, no per transaction fees - just a flat-rate. Apparently WooCommerce and another [FILTERED_WEBSITE] has figured this out. Could you speak with the rep I emailed to you?

Over the last few years, I've used various sources to process my customer's credit cards. Square is 'ok', but they're on the expensive side, I seem to recall that they're very close to the price Quickbooks charges, with close to 3% plus a per transaction fee. In addition, they both charge you a higher rate if you key it the number - more like 4-5%. I was shocked to see just how much I was racking up in cc fees every month last year. I haven't been able to beat Vantiv's guaranteed rate (at least not with my volume) and it's one of the reasons I did switch to RS. So far, they seem to be slightly slower than Square in their deposits, but about the same or a little faster than QB.

We've been interested in this idea but without Square telling us how they'll give you card present rates vs not present, or having a swiper instead of only keyed entry - we probably can't add anything meaningful to the web side. The idea here in the comments about clicking something to trigger the iOS app to open up is totally valid and that's good enough for everyone we could probably do that in the next couple months.

I really like this idea. We use square for all our card processing because of their one fee approach and great rates. Currently we manually enter a credit card payment in RS and key in the amount on a small tablet with the square app. I do not believe squares web api allows for swipers but perhaps a work around is possible using the register api and a custom ios or android app? It may be a good feature to add to the existing RS app. Basically when you click on the credit card button in RS it sends a request to the app which presumably would be assigned to a specific register calling the register api with the invoice total. Am I Crazy? or is this possible?

I would like to see this also. We currently use the IOS version but I have to admit it is pretty clunky especially when customer presents cash payment. We also have a pretty good rate so it's hard for us to leave Square.

Just received another communication from Square's business consulting team. They are VERY INTERESTED in getting RS to work with their PC API integration, in addition to the (already integrated) iOS API. I provided the rep "Haley" a link to this post and told her to reach out to you guys @RS @Troy @Robert.

I second this. We are using Square for WooCommerce online, I would love RS to follow suit.

We recently got a call from square offering us custom rates which are very competitive to our current interchange-plus rates, and Square's simplicity is really worth switching. They said it looks like RS currently uses their "Register-API", but they also have a Web-API allowing payments to process on non-iOS hardware (ie. a PC). It would work just like Authorize.net and Vantive - which is what we want.
