I just spent the time to go through every Ticket, Invoice, and employee report to try and do what you have listed above. I agree entirely with you that a column should be added to cross-reference Invoices with Tickets on each report it would be relevant. It's actually kind of frustrating that this information is not included on several reports.
However, I did find a workaround! It does require running two reports and working some Excel magic to get the information, and then you can run any desired third report to link the invoice to your employee and work done.
Reports:
- Line Item Export
- Employee Sales and Commission Report
So far, the only report I've found that links the Ticket Number and Invoice Number is the Employee Sales and Commission Report. By running this report, you can create a two column reference table to do a VLOOKUP in Excel within the Line Item Export.
Hopefully this will give sufficient information to further cross-reference against other reports to get the desired information.
