UPGRADE to the PROGRESS PANEL on Tickets to show any DEPOSIT and/or PAYMENT
We heavily use the “Progress” panel (on tickets) to see where we’re at on a job. But two big things are missing: who’s the tech that did that step (diagnosis, invoiced, etc) and was there a deposit and/or payment taken? We’re constantly having to scroll down just to reference the tech who made a specific comment. And, we take deposits on repair work, which is about 75% of our tickets, so it would be nice to see a Deposit bar on the Progress panel, too. I’ve made some simple additions to the Progress panel that I think would really help everyone. Link to mock-up: http://i.imgur.com/Kzyw57k.jpg
All progress bars would indicate the tech that made that specific update. For instance, this would be much easier to see which tech took the payment, rather than clicking the linked invoice, then clicking the linked payment, and then looking for who created that payment. Same with Diagnosis. Much easier than scrolling through tons of ticket comments, just to find out which tech made the Diagnosis comment. And if multiple techs were involved (eg. Multiple invoices or multiple diagnosis comments), there could be a link to “See all”. This would keep the progress bars clean and tight.
Deposit Taken – This could be turned on or off depending on if your store takes deposits. Further, deposits would post to the customer’s account, rather than to the ticket as a pending charge. This would allow estimates to reflect any deposits on the account for more accurate quoting that would include a “total” and “balance total” line.
Payment Received – This would be a new line because tickets are generally not resolved until payment is made. RS already prompts you to resolve after payment, so why not make that a final step in the progress bar? This would only show as yes when all invoices are paid in full.
I like it! Thanks Ryan :)
Probably a couple months out, we have some big stuff coming for PO, RMA, stock check, etc etc coming first

Planned for along time! When can we expect it to be implemented?

Having deposits and payments in the panel is really neat and follows the logical work flow. I like it.

Hey Troy. This has been almost a year. Pretty simple thing to add since the groundwork already exists. Could you please add these two simple boxes to the progress panel? Other posts showing this mockup have lots of positive feedback. Thanks!

I was just thinking about this idea again today. I had to guess and check the between 4 linked invoices to find the deposit invoice. And another time I had to scroll like 5 pages just to see the tech that did the diagnosis. I'm like OHMERGAWD I RELE WAAAAANT IT! :) :) :)
