GPS Tracking on company cars
Hey guys! I thought about this idea when I had a big issue with one of my techs being late to field job appointments. I was searching around the internet on ideas to keep track of my techs while they are in my company cars, and I ran across a website called www.mycartracks.com. This company has a API and allows integration with other companies. This would be a great addition to the app center. I was thinking about putting company phones in my company cars because My Car Tracks uses android phones to track location. This would be great to integrate with the Field Jobs calendar, If we were able to assign the vehicle to the field job because the phone would always be assigned to that car, and this would allow us to track the exact position of the tech, what route the tech took to get to the field job, how long the vehicle was stopped, I think it allows to track how fast the tech is driving, if a customer calls to find out an ETA of the Techs arrival time it would be available without have to call your tech, and more. Please Check this out I think you guys would love it! Thanks for all the effort and work you guy do for us!

I agree with a previous comment from b.king.
We do almost all of our work out in the field, other software suites offer a mobile app that integrates GPS readings to allow "home base" to reassign technicians in near real time. This also enables the technicians app to automatically text customers about the arrival time.
I like that that Repairshopr seems to fit in almost every other way, just lacking the location based features for our technicians. -

Sim Pro does this and its really cool! It would be great especially for those who operate fleets of vehicles like plumbers ect.

Another great solution is TripLog. They have an api as well and great reporting as well as multiple ways to tack mileage. Extremely affordable too. https://triplogmileage.com

I would love to see integration for time clock/more with AutoMile. They have an API and great solutions for GPS fleet tracking. Please add integration. This is great for MSPs.

Hey everyone! I am in the service industry and on the market for a job management software program. I have looked numerous programs and not one is a fit all. However, repairshopr has the most appealing and offers the most customization options of all the programs that I have looked at. It's killing me to not go ahead with the program at this point due to it's lack of just 2 features that I feel not only the service industry can utilize but many others as well. The key aspects are the lack of GPS tracking capability of service crews in the field and the ability to assign site addresses to one client. It's imperative to have the ability to see where the crews are at in the field when an "emergency" call comes in order to make the best financial and logistic decision for the company and client. I have spoken with numerous staff members from other job management companies and they are all aware of repairshopr great capabilities, but see this as a hurdle to overcome as well. I see repairshopr's potential as being a leader for all industries should these features rollout. I ask kindly to please consider and I will be at your door knocking while jumping for joy as my search for a well rounded software program would be complete.

Good idea but I would suggest something like uplink.com, honeywell total control (both of which we are resellers for) and integrate into hardware installed or placed in the vehicle ..so not only can it not be disabled/removed but its also a good measure against theft and reports all the vehicles vitals.

I think this would be great. We used Locqus Field Management before switching to RepairShopr. It was great for the field, but lacked all the customization that we needed. But I would like to have the field tracking again!
