inventory custom fields
Hey Guys, I have customers call me up all the time looking for specific specs (such as an i5 laptop with 8GiBs of RAM) and I've noticed that it is indeed a bit cumbersome to find what I have in stock.
Then it dawned on me... Why not have the ability to add "custom fields" (or a worksheet) to an inventory part and have that info searchable through the inventory module?
I'd love to be able to enter the specifications of a laptop, desktop, etc when I'm creating the listing and be able to search for them afterwards.
Give us Worksheets for inventory parts!

Definitely would be useful. I would like to be able to link datasheets for components in a custom field, either as a URL or local file reference

yes that would help alot, I have a phone store & would like to have 1 inventory item for example iPhone 6 & have to make different products for each storage capacity or weather it i unlocked to not. Having this feature would enable me to have one main product with different attributing features without having the same inventory product multiple times, which adds unneeded inventory items.

For the clients tickets/assets, there are custom fields and it is awesome, but not even as important to have them compare to the inventory.
an inventory or computers/laptops or phones without being able to filter by processor, memory, screen size ect. .. is kind of useless. please add customes fields to the inventory !! :D -

I also need to store lots more metadata with an inventory item because I have thousands of small parts. So I'd like to add data on where to find them in my warehouse. Shelf number, bin number, envelope number. Also standard data for electronic parts: whether it's through-hole or SMD, what the voltage rating is, etc. So just a nice custom fields functionality for inventory items would be helpful.

I still think this is a great idea! Maybe bumping it will help it pick up steam.

With our old system we have several fields that we would like to be able to transmit over. Specific Pcode (Part Code), Class Code (to classify the faster moving parts from the slower ones) etc. So far I have not been able to find a way to bring that information over.
