Making the serialization option editable (unserialize)
We have run into this situation a few times now due to how different vendors do things differently when it comes to serial numbers. We setup a product to be serialized, Like RAM, then switch vendors and they don't serialize their RAM and now we have to create a new product and lose all that history and add confusion.
We are big on tracking out data and would prefer not to lose all that.
Making the Serialization check box an editable options would be very handy. Of course only for Global admins or those selected to have such power in a security group.
Thanks

Hey there, while it should definitely be a button in repairshopr, since the functionality is there. We've been using API requests to do exactly this. Here is an example of what we use:
https://domain.repairshopr.com/api/v1/products/"product id here"?serialized=false&maintain_stock=true&api_key="api key here"A full example would be:
https://testing.repairshopr.com/api/v1/products/12115938?serialized=false&maintain_stock=true&api_key=123123123123123123Hope that helps and that they fix this in the future.

Well here we are agian. I'll revive this. I'm trying to correct inventory issues and I have PO's for product quantity 0 but it won't let me receive to clear it because it wants a serial number for an item that has 0 quantity.

I'm just starting my account and somehow parts became serialized when I imported my inventory. I'm guessing that it had to do with how my import spreadsheet was set up. Either way I have a major problem because when I take stock it gives me no option for assigning serial numbers to the inventory I'm entering so then I can't add it to tickets or invoices. I can't check out a customer because I can't close the invoice. I'm having major problems with this serialized option and it not being able to be removed. Any help would be appreciated. You have 20 votes now, I think it's time to do something about it.

We also have this problem. We had 2 items in stock so put in a PO for 5 more. Got those and somehow the product became serialized... not sure exactly how at this point. This is all well and good but those two don't show anything in the system and now when I go to create an invoice and I am required to select the serials, I see that there are 7 to select but ALL the options are blank... I just see the checkboxes... I select 1 but it's still red. Very frustrating.

being able to remove the serialized option when the product changes and no longer has a serial would be great.

Yea, I am getting sick and tired of my employees having such a difficult time with serialized products. Tracking is very important for our store!!
