Offer IN-HOUSE FINANCING Payment Option to Generate ADDITIONAL REVENUE
This is an epic idea that would generate additional revenue for RS business owners who want to take on some additional minimal risk by doing their own in-house financing, OR, for RS to make revenue as a reseller if they'd want to consider partnering with a finance lending company!
I usually draw up extensive mock-ups and elaborate explanations of my ideas, but since that doesn't seem to hold much weight, I'm just going to post step-by-step directions of how I think this should work:
- Term lengths and interest rates set in Payment Method settings.
- Customer has a balance/invoice they want to pay with financing.
- Choose payment method "Financing" from Payments drop-down.
- Payment term options would appear - 3mo, 6mo, 12mo.
- Next page would bring up a custom Agreement to be signed.
- Credit card gets stored as part of recurring payment setup.
- Create a recurring payment schedule with a calculated price/month, along with a specified END DATE based on the terms of financing.
- Automatic payments each month apply to original invoice.
- At invoice payoff, the invoice gets marked as paid.
- Done. You just made extra money for getting paid over addl' time.
Example: $500 invoice financed at 18% APR for 12 months
$500 principal + $90 interest = $590 total / 12 months = $49.17 per month.
Automatic payment of $49.17 would be added to invoice each month.
The final outcome would be more affordable options for customers, less excuses of "I can't afford that right now", better conversion rates of approvals, and MORE revenue for RS business owners open to taking on some additional risk.
Add together a basic groundwork such as a partnership with a debt collection agency and a mechanics property recovery lien/contract, and you just started generating up to 25% more revenue (depending on your state's lending rules and comparative credit card interest rates) every year.
