Allow Negative Inventory
I have brought this up before and am going to do so again. I would love to see the inventory system allow for negative inventory count. I do understand that for those using the back order feature that would not be possible. However I am more interested in having accurate inventory counting than I am in allocating back orders. Currently with the back order system off, if an employee sells inventory before it was able to be entered by the purchasers the inventory count stays at zero. Then when the purchaser enters the inventory a day later the count goes to one which is an inaccurate total. The only fix as it stands for this problem is to manually adjust which is not preferred by accountants. I understand that to some tracking all inventory, whether it be one off or not, does not make sense. Without going into great depth of my business model I will not be able to satisfy that question but suffice it to say, with the exception of non-inventory items such as service, I want all inventory tracked.
It would make my life a lot simpler if the programming allowed for negative inventory when the back order function is turned off.
