Bulk Import of customer assets
I can't seem to find a way to do a bulk import of a new customer's assets. It would be nice to be able to do so, especially if you have client's with 50 desktops in an IT environment.

@Theis Thulin - would you be able to help me create an api for import? I will be importing about 3000 items but will have quite a few fields - I'm willing to pay for help

Hi everyone, I used Postman to upload all our customers data via API. Worked fine. Created 13.000 assets.
I have created a public collection of the call: https://www.getpostman.com/collections/be18a3682ded96df2ec3Download Postman and add collection from URL, paste in my URL.
Make sure you make a personal copy, so no one else get your IDs.
You need to get your own bearer ID and enter under Headers.
Then you need to edit the Body, to contain the fields you want to have created.
Create a txt document with all the data you want to upload.
In Postman, click the Runner, select file and run. -

I just got a customer where they have 300 plus systems that I will be generating a FMV (Fair Market Valuation) and the RS system has a very good setup for evaluation of the equipment. I can add a custom field that I can input my comments and then create a valuation field for the estimated value of the equipment. The ability to download the report is already there with the CSV format.
BULK UPLOAD IS NEEDED! Can I send you my excel file to upload for me?

We need to be able to import and track all assets. Also Warranty expire date is necessary to be recorded otherwise how can we select warranty service from post -warranty service???

Also, please create "Asset Status Disable/Enable" rather than deleting asset (same as inventory)
This will give us an option to better manage Asset's & associated RMM billing.Rgds,
Peter

This would be very useful. We have an asset database that has years of data and we never even considered using it due to the inability to get it imported.

I agree with this - even adding a new customer with 20 computers is tedious one at a time.
Or - if we had the clone feature (like inventory items), it would at least partially populate fields with similar info that can be edited.

Maybe adding assets one by one works if you are starting from scratch but we have a 20 year old business with lots of asset records we need to be able to track and manage and entering each record individually would be too time consuming for me to move from our current system. I was happy to see that it is now possible to export assets, so hoping that importing is not far behind!

We would need that for sure too, in order to be able to move from our old CRM
