Inventory Locations
When adding items to inventory, I notice there is an input box for "Physical Location". That works if the item is always in that same physical location, but when you have stock in multiple places, it can be more time consuming to check to see where it says the location is, and update everything manually. There should be a way to manually create locations in the system and tie items to that location. For example, there are 2 racks in the backroom, each rack has 6 shelves, and each shelf has 5 boxes for product, where each rack, each shelf, and each box has it's own identifying number or letter. If the location says 2C5, it could be read as the 2nd rack (2), 3rd shelf up (C) and the 5th box over (5). If each location also has a barcode, it simplifies the matter further by scanning the item, then the location, and the system automatically updates. This helps make inventory easier when determining how much product you have where, or if you're just trying to find something in general.

I also second this. You can put whatever you want in the location box, which is incredible for stores that use different inventory location schemes, but the information you enter there is not searchable! For example, if I have items in stockroom shelf 1 section 3, I can't search SR-1-3. I type this in and nothing comes up. I would love for this field to be added to the universal search.

This would be very useful for us

Love the idea of the barcode for each location. Yes we have a shop and factory and would like to enter how much stock is in each location

Its also not helped by the fact that the location field is a free text box. When you have several locations it only takes somebody to type the location wrongly or with a space and a new location s created. Ideally it needs a drop down of pre-set locations.

I would like to expand on this.
I would like to see a barcode generated for each physical location. Each shelf, each cupboard, each bin etc...
You'd create a new physical location, give it a name, and a barcode is generated. This could be setup so each location can have a parent, so you'd have "Backroom" with children "Rack 1", "Rack 2", and then each rack can have "Shelf 1", "Shelf 2" etc...From there, when receiving items, you can print in stock labels for each item, and then scan each of them, and when you scan the location they're stored at, it automatically puts those items into that location. With the "in-stock" labels, that have different numbers, you could know exactly which items are at each location.
Then inside the product view, it would say something like "3 in Backroom/Rack 2/Shelf 3" for each location this product is currently stored in.
I would like to see good integration with the labels and barcode scanners. For example, each location barcode always starts with a certain pattern, so when it's scanned the system knows it's a location and not a product.
If you're using the barcodes and scanners, if you were to take an item from one location and move it to a different location, it would automatically be updated to reflect that change.
